Rutuja Bhosale Wins the $25,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament by Overpowering Anastasia Gasanova

Rutuja Bhosale won the title in Sunday’s final held at La Marsa, Tunisia for the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament against Anastasia Gasanova, a top seed. The scorecard read 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 with the competition lasting for over two hours. The Indian tennis player in the first set could only secure nine points. However, in the decider set, she led 5-2, and thereon converted the fifth match point into the tenth game.

For Rutuja, winning is not a new trend, as the 27-year-old already has five singles titles in her career to date. But for her, the win currently is the maiden one at the $25,000 level. Considering the $25,000 level for doubles, she has till now 19 doubles titles. The Indian tennis player was born on 27 March 1996 in Shrirampur, India. She debuted in 2012 for India Fed Cup.

She also achieved world No. 55 the same year, which was also her highest junior ranking. The prolific player has a humble fan following, and is one of the youngest stars in the sports field for India, making the nation proud. She has also been an inspiration to several young tennis players from the country. But Rutuja Sampatrao Bhosale is not just about the play and no work.

Because she has outshone herself even in education. This tennis player has attended Texas A&M University, and in 2017 completed her graduation degree in Human Resources and Tourism Management. Rutuja holds a number one rank previously in WTA doubles and married the former captain of the Maharashtra Ranji Team in August 2020 - Swapnil Gugale.

Rutuja is surely setting an example of women scaling balance in their personal and professional life. And for the upcoming years, we can hope her to crack several more prestigious titles in the sport of tennis not just in India, but internationally as well.
