Sam Altman, the
Chief Executive Officer of OpenAI, and the creator of ChatGPT will visit India
this week. He will be on a tour to six nations, out of which India is one and
others are Qatar, South Korea, Jordan, Israel, and UAE. OpenAI explores
technologies in artificial intelligence. In his tweet, Altman said that he was
excited about the tour. The tweet was posted on Sunday. However, there are no
details disclosed about his itinerary yet. Thus, we do not know about his
planned day-to-day activities yet.
Though AI is
still nascent, it is already proving to assist several industries and
workplaces. As India has a strong IT industry, AI utility could be large
because of huge data availability. Artificial intelligence technology has good
potential for the nation. Also, it is expected that AI will contribute USD 957
billion to the country’s economy by the year 2035. This year, the Indian
government had quoted about NASSCOM data that the AI employment overall is
about 416,000 professionals.
The announcement
of the same was done with data from the NASSCOM in February. The growth rate
for AI is thus approximated at 20% to 25%. Several countries all over the globe
have been utilizing AI technology to reduce interference with human resources
and welcome artificial intelligence instead. This is especially taking over the
delivery service industry currently. But as technology progresses, it is
doubted to overcome many jobs that depend on the human workforce at the moment.
And that is
fearful from the point of view of employment. As several job cuts could be
expected with the adaption and implantation of AI. OpenAI is backed by
Microsoft and it has come up with the fourth version of ChatGPT now, already
accessible to the general public. The human-like performance of the tool for
different tasks, which was earlier a drawback, is now becoming a strength of
the AI-based platform. Soon, we can hope to see more AI technologies shaping
tomorrow.
