Bloody Daddy: Sanjay Kapoor Says Ali Abbas Zafar Has No Ego, the Actor Had Rejected an Earlier Offer by the Filmmaker

Sanjay Kapoor who is presently starring in Ali Abbas Zafar's action-thriller Bloody Daddy available to watch on JioCinema with Shahid Kapoor in the lead, claims that he was offered the project within six months of refusing a major appearance at the filmmaker's web series. The actor made it clear that he was not really taken with the part he was offered. Sanjay said he has always liked Ali as a filmmaker and was excited when he contacted him about a part for a show's second season, he is reluctant to identify but is likely talking about Tandav.

However, he did not click with the character though looking forward to working with Ali. The director had said that the third installment would be great. But Sanjay said he conveyed he needed to figure out the role at this juncture. Despite Sanjay rejecting the offered role by the director, Ali contacted him once again for Bloody Daddy and discovered that the man had "no ego."

Although the actor admitted it was not an "easy decision" to turn down a director of Ali's caliber, he was left with little choice—and the director was kind enough to accept. Sanjay said that hats off to Ali because the called the actor to his office, which in today’s date not every director does, to narrate after deciding that he was the perfect choice for the role he currently portrays in Bloody Daddy.

The actor felt it was cool the person he had turned down Ali for something else six months prior was now eager for him to join his other project. Sanjay also said that he really wanted to be a part of this, just to work with this man whom he appreciated a lot as a person and filmmaker, so he crossed his fingers and headed to his office and hoped that he would enjoy this role.

Sanjay claimed that when he declined the role Ali had offered him in the show, he had been honest with him about why it did not thrill him enough. He lacked an ego. The actor initially wanted to collaborate with this amazing director and then understood how grounded he is as a person. He did not mince words but was open and honest with him.

The actor had said that it took him a long while to get to what he is today and since he is not a superstar, he did not want to make a wrong choice. He wanted to work, but only on a project where the actor had anything substantial to contribute. Ali recognized his sincerity. Sanjay concluded by saying, everyone desires to work with honest and talented individuals.
